How this is calculated
  • Cost per credit = monthly membership ÷ monthly credits
  • Estimated class cost = credits per class × cost per credit
  • Classes per month = whole classes covered by total credits
  • Total monthly spend = membership + extra credit purchases
  • Difference per class = direct price − estimated ClassPass class cost
  • Break-even credits = direct price ÷ cost per credit

ClassPass credit requirements vary by location, class, time, demand, equipment, promotions, and other factors. This calculator uses the averages you enter and does not predict future ClassPass pricing.

ClassPass cost is easy to see on your bill and harder to see per class. Because the plan is priced in credits and each booking costs a different number of credits, the real price of a class depends on what you book. This calculator converts your plan into a cost per credit, an estimated cost per class and a comparison with booking directly.

The example values are placeholders, not ClassPass's current prices. ClassPass plans vary by location, so enter the membership price and credit allowance shown in your own account.

How to Use the Calculator

You need three numbers from your account and one estimate of your own habits.

  1. Monthly membership price: The amount you pay each month for your plan.
  2. Credits included per month: The credit allowance listed with your plan.
  3. Typical credits per class: The number of credits your usual bookings cost. Check a few recent bookings and use a rough average.
  4. Extra credits (optional): If you buy add-on credits, enter how many you bought and what you paid in total.
  5. Direct studio price (optional): The studio's own drop-in price, so you can compare.

How ClassPass Cost Is Calculated

The key figure is the cost per credit. Every other result builds on it.

ResultFormula
Cost per creditMonthly membership ÷ monthly credits
Estimated class costCredits per class × cost per credit
Classes per monthWhole classes covered by your total credits
Total monthly spendMembership + extra credit purchases
Break-even creditsDirect studio price ÷ cost per credit

Extra credits you buy are added to your total monthly spend and to the classes your credits cover. The cost per credit stays based on your plan, because add-on credits can carry a different price.

A Worked Example

With the example values, a $79 plan with 45 credits works out to about $1.76 per credit. A class that costs 10 credits is therefore about $17.56. The 45 credits cover 4 whole classes, with 5 credits left over.

If the same studio charges $30 for a drop-in, the ClassPass booking costs about $12.44 less in this hypothetical case. The break-even point is about 17 credits. A class that costs more than that would be cheaper to book directly.

Why Credit Prices Change

ClassPass does not assign one fixed credit price to every class. In its February 2026 explanation of how credits work, the company said credit amounts can reflect a studio's direct pricing, popularity, class timing, location and other demand-related factors. Its SmartRate tool adjusts credit requirements using demand signals such as booking patterns and how close a session is to starting.

That means a busy evening class may cost more credits than a quiet midday class at the same studio. Run the calculator with your peak-time and off-peak credit costs to see the range. The breakdown of the ClassPass business model explains how these pricing tools work from the studio side.

When ClassPass Can Cost More Than Booking Direct

ClassPass tends to offer the most value when you book off-peak classes, try several studios, or attend studios with high direct prices. It can cost more than booking direct in other situations.

  • Frequent visits to one studio: A studio membership may cost less per class if you attend one place often.
  • Peak-time habits: Higher credit requirements at busy times raise your cost per class.
  • Unused credits: Credits you do not use raise your real cost. Check your plan's rollover rules and renewal terms.
  • Add-on credits: Extra credits can carry a different price from your plan credits.

Assumptions and Limits

The calculator uses the averages you enter. It does not predict future ClassPass pricing, model rollover limits or late-cancel fees, or account for taxes and promotions. It assumes every class costs your typical number of credits, which is rarely exact.

Results are estimates for planning only. Nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere; all calculations run in your browser.

FAQs

How much does ClassPass cost per class?

ClassPass cost per class equals the credits a booking requires multiplied by your cost per credit. Your cost per credit is your monthly membership divided by your monthly credits. Because credit requirements vary by studio, time and demand, your cost per class changes from booking to booking.

Why do ClassPass classes cost different numbers of credits?

ClassPass says credit amounts can reflect a studio's direct pricing, popularity, class timing, location and other demand factors. Its SmartRate system adjusts credit requirements using signals such as booking patterns, so popular peak-time classes can need more credits than quieter sessions.

Is ClassPass cheaper than paying the studio directly?

It depends on the class. Compare the estimated ClassPass class cost with the studio's direct drop-in price. The calculator's break-even figure shows the credit level where both options cost the same; classes requiring more credits than that would be cheaper to book directly.

Does the calculator include unused or rolled-over credits?

No. The calculator assumes you use the credits you enter. If you regularly leave credits unused, your real cost per class is higher. Check your plan's rollover limits and renewal terms in your ClassPass account, and lower the credits figure to reflect what you actually use.

Is my information saved or shared?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, requires no login, and does not store your entries or send them to analytics or any third party. Refreshing the page clears everything you typed.
